At the heart of everything in life is a story. My curtains lifted in Boston as the daughter of a teen couple that would separate shortly after my arrival. My father followed his father into a vocation as a firefighter. My mother, the romantic artist, toiled as a magnificent dressmaker while working other jobs to make ends meet over the years. Each of my parents was born into families of six siblings. My total of twelve aunts and uncles and their many offspring spread through the cobblestone streets like wildfire. There wasn’t a pub, market, or salon I could go to without bumping into a family member. My family meant everything to me, and I never imagined I’d leave all thirty-seven of them behind.
At twenty-three, I visited the West Coast for a three-month internship; during that time, my best friend in Boston died tragically. This loss motivated me to accept a job offer in at Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles after graduation.
Since moving to Los Angeles, I’ve worked with brilliant minds – ones you know and will soon know. I have won awards, missed opportunities, and partied hard. I’ve fallen in love, birthed my children, and found yearnings deep down inside that only adulting could bring me to realize. I also became a successful real estate investor.
I ache for gun control in the name of my actress friend shot by her husband and in the name of the children gunned down at school. I desire to expose global corporate greed and the irreversible downline (true Union Member here). I long to achieve the true definition of feminism – equality, i.e., equal expectations. I hunger for a cleaner, climate-controlled world for my children.
My superpower is storytelling. Storytelling provokes change. At the heart of every movement is a powerful story that made a group feel something. And as my yearnings awaken, I know that my solution will be bringing awareness to the issues through relatable, entertaining stories - both truth and fiction.
